" The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires." - William Arthur Ward Welcome! My name is Marie-ange Haddad, and this is my third year teaching, second year at Discovery. I am very excited to be back at Discovery and am eager to get this year started. I am working alongside a great team of teachers who all have your child's best interest at heart. We have some great projects planned for this year and cannot wait to dive in!
Little about me: I moved to Las Vegas two years ago after I got married, from the east coast of Canada from a beautiful city along the coast called Halifax in the province of Nova Scotia. I have a Bachelor of Child and youth study and a Bachelor of Elementary Education. I have worked with children in many different areas and environments such as literacy, counselling, early intervention, teaching, mentoring and tutoring. As you will probably realize over the course of the year (if you havn't already) is I am a HUGE animal lover ( especially dogs), I am an animal advocate/activitist and do alot of rescue work. My husband and I are in the process of starting our own not-for-profit rescue and we are so excited!!! I have two wonderful dogs of my own, Pepper (2 years old) and Tuck( 3 years old) who are Belgian Malinois . Pepper is a certified therapy dog and visits patients suffering from mental health alongside doing agility work and Tuck is doing protection work as well as agility. They are quite the characters and have a big sense of humour. I also have a very strong relationship with coffee ( sometimes too strong), and will always be caught with my travel mug or starbucks in hand! My passions include dance (I have danced for over 15 years and have performed all over Canada and the states, animals, spending time with family & friends, volunteering, being by the ocean, faith, cooking, traveling, excercising, walking/playing with my dogs, music, children's books , interior design and the outdoors! |
